Wolfson College was founded in 1965 and is part of the Cambridge University Colleges. It provides a student accommodation facility that houses more than 800 students, with over 400 accommodation rooms. Boom Construction were appointed in mid 2018 to undertake the ‘J’ Block summer refurbishment works during the summer holiday period.

The works consisted of the refurbishment of student bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and general communal areas over three floors. As well this was a very involved and large new plant room installation which was vital in ensuring not only the ‘J’Block was functioning but a number of blocks surrounding it.

As with many higher education projects the project had to be completed over a 13 week period with the students returning the week after completion.
